After studying languages at Clare College, Cambridge I trained as an opera singer at the Royal Academy of Music and the National Opera Studio. During my studies I achieved success in several UK-based singing competitions including:

- 4th Prize in the National Mozart Competition 2000

- Finalist in the Inaugural Handel Singing Competition 2001

- Finalist in the Royal Overseas League Vocal Awards 2002

- Semi-Finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Awards 2002

In my performing career I have sung high-profile roles in large opera houses, including the title role in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin for Welsh National Opera and the title role in Mozart's Don Giovanni conducted by Sir Colin Davis. On the concert platform I have appeared as a soloist at the Royal Albert Hall, St David's Hall, Cardiff and the Usher Hall, Edinburgh. 

I have lived in Eastbourne since 2007 when I first sang at Glyndebourne Festival Opera. Alongside my own performing I have taught music and singing in Sussex schools, both state and independent, on a regular basis. I was the first Teacher of Music at Gildredge House Free School in Eastbourne. I currently teach at Eastbourne College where I am fortunate enough to work in the Birley Centre and its auditorium.
